Boatwright Distribution & Supply, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Kip Boatwright to continue the family legacy of providing quality insulation material distribution services to customers in the Raleigh, NC area. Kip’s father, Alfred, opened the original Boatwright Insulation in the 1970s. Kip worked for years with his father’s company, including after it was sold when his father’s health started to decline in the 1990s. But Kip had a dream to continue on the family legacy and create a company where the customer is treated fairly and employees can enjoy working for an employer that is like family.

Boatwright Distribution & Supply, Inc. was first run out of a temporary warehouse on the corner of Penmarc at Green Street in Raleigh before moving to a new, 14,000-square-foot facility located off Kirkland Drive.
